Thanks for taking the time to comment Andrew. I'm sure there are lots of interesting and similar stories of "experiments" in Indigenous communities where you live too. Best wishes for your work and great to hear from you.

Dear Anouk,

I have just finished reading your book, borrowed from my local library here in Griffith NSW. We have a large indigenous population here in the Riverina: my contact with them has been enlightening to say the least. Now reading your book has given me more understanding of the history of white settlement and the impact on Aboriginal communities. They go hand in hand: white occupation led to the decline of the indigneous, it was systemic.

I really like how you weave your experiences in researching their story and retracing their steps; and visiting all those amazing places. I can't think of another book that does this so well. I'm glad you didn't treat the story as a novel.

I was saddened to read that Conaci had died in Rome - I was hoping that both of them had made it back to their land and lived their lives as their ancestors had done for thousands of years; but I could also feel as I was reading that was not going to be the case.

I hope this book is on the curriculum for high schools around the country as I believe the story should be more widely known. Young people are the best place to start for increasing the understanding of our history. Thank you for writing this book.

Best wishes
